Mommy maid a lot of food today but it wasn't for me. I'm not really sure who it was all for but she cooked and cooked til she was tired of cooking or the recipe said to stop.Mommy made 16 Kuchens (Koog-ins) in all. Daddy says Kuchens are sweet deserts like cake and pie together each with different fillings inside. I bet they're yummy. She made some chocolate chip, mango, peach, apricot, cottage cheese, poppy seed and prune ones.
Someday I hope I can help mommy make Kuchens and get to eat them like mommy and daddy do---with a fork. For now, I'm so tired i want to sleep and dream of cooking with mommy while she bakes and bakes and bakes and bakes for all those people.

When we go back to SD to visit, you'll get to see lots of people who make Kuchens! It is a German recipe. You are 1/2 German. Your great-grandparents even used to speak it! Now Mommy wants to try to make pfeffernuese (pepper nuts) some time. It was my Great-Grandma Shaeffer's recipe :)
